Best card position for maximizing fan longevity.

I would argue that horizontal, that is, with fans facing up, is the ideal position, otherwise fans down, otherwise vertical.

Why? No torsion constantly pulling the shaft down.

    Best solution? Run a VERY powerful exhaust fan and have a decent passive intake. This way, your fans are hardly running over 30% and instead of replacing fans on cards often, you might have to replace the exhaust fan every once in a blue moon.

    My point? Reduce the point of failure as much as possible (replace multiple fans on GPUs vs replacing one exhaust fan).
