Here is a 8gpu rig, I weld these aluminum frames, it actually sucks some heat out of the cards as you mount to the AL rail. Mounts 8 with ease or if you want to mount 10-12 you can depends though 1060s can be wide and rx580s are thin and as cards get closer to eachother you need colder room temps.
Hey Robcis, If you have 100 amp breaker on your main panel and its your house, id save at least 50-60amp for house, so you kinda have 40amps to work with maybe. Still each outlet needs the proper wire and breaker in the panel but 240v x 40 is 9600watts. Though best to actually measure your volts with multimeter as it might only be 234v so then times 40amp. You can do 8 1060 and be at 950watts. So nine 8 card rigs 1.5ghs on eth and costing like $25usd a day in electrical plus the AC air costs to keep the home cool as that cost will increase as the air runs 24/7 trying to keep the house cool, thats alot of heat putting off a 8gpu rig.
Just wanted to ask a quick question since you have quite a setup there. I'm trying to figure out what is the max electricity load (in watts) that my house can handdle. I'm trying to figure out how many rigs I could set up. I've posted a picture of my electricity box in this thread. It would be really nice if you could give me some tips.
Hey guys. Just built my first rig. Tried to make it as cheap as possible and this is what I came up with. $20 walmart rack and $2.50 in flower bed wire to hold the cards in place. So far so good. These cards overclock very well (GTX1060 6GB) and getting 22Mhash/sec with them. I have 2 more cards to put in, just waiting for the m.2 to pci 4x adapters to come in!
Update - 4 in the rack, 5th built and building my sixth tonight to go into my second rack. Will have 13 when I'm done converting my wire shelf rigs. They are doing really well in the heat - it was 91 degrees today and the shed got over 100 but most of the cards stayed under 75 at the hottest times. Had to turn up the exhaust fan though and did dial a few back that were running hotter.

Nice setups guys heres ours at home we upgraded our rigs lastnight from 1x gtx 1080 oc 2x gtx 1070 oc to 1x 1080 and 5x 1070. All asus rog strix nvidia oc. Were slowly overclocking each cards and right now we do 164 mhs. We hope getting 180 total when finished tweaking them up. Temps stay at 45 in room even when its hot outside super quiet no fans but watercooling corsair h100i v2 and gpus fans which are set to 50% speed. 800w total power consumption hopefully we get it to run around 900 when rig is completely setted.

@blockerb I designed it so that the fan behind the rig sucks all the heat out. That room is not even a degree higher than the ambient temp outside as measured by a thermocouple on the wall

I built my own custom stacking system rigs with a RIG RACK on wheels, but its not finished yet, it needs an extractor fan and panels etc... and another 3 rigs to make a 30 GPU rack.
Designed a new rig frame that holds 6-8, more compact then most of these long horizontal like units out there. Bat style like some of these rack n zip tie warriors.. This frame is 12x12 and 24 tall. Peak at my 8gpu dot com site if you are interested or get with me. Had alot of fun cnc cutting the top bars with a boat load of 6-32 gpu screw threaded holes haha.
Generally anymore air is sucked into the fan and then just blows over the sink and throughout all directions on the gpu. I think only the reference like radeon series has a controlled air flow pattern.
Current setup is 2 h81 pro btc boards, 2 evga supernova g3 750w psus per mobo and 2 230 mm bitfenix fans pushing the air, i got 8 gpus hooked up but could get 2x6 gpu rigs in the case but im already maxed out with the circuits.
