Hi,
I thought I share this moded bios for this MSI model (
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137024)You can play around with GPU, Core clocks. My cards would crash on anything lower then these setting, but I saw people go down to 890 mv without no problem at GPU.
Just flash with atiflash. Use latest drivers.
Haven't tried dual mining, but I am sure it just works fine.
if you have questions feel free to ask.

He managed to get me a card max. Following values:
New values RIG 6x GK - MSI RX 470 GAMING X 8gb:
Core: -96 mV
RAM: 1750 Mhz
GPU 1070 MHz
Tests of the complete system from the outlet ETH + SIA: 866 Watt
Hashrate Ethereum: 144.5 MHS
Hashrate SIA: MHS 2167
Room temperature: 22C
Consumption 1 MH / s: 5.9 W
RISER Consumption: 3.8A
Further the resulting values in FIG.
the original BIOS MSI RX 470 GAMING X 8G
msi 470 gaming 8g max fan speed is how much RPM?
Which drivers have to be able to run Flash graphics card?
I had deleted file. You can run with lastest amd drivers.
I change timing but it still mine with 24 mhs
how to mod correctly?
drivers are 16.9.1
original bios from atiflash and gpu-z
Very glad that i fount a thread about MSI here beacause i have 2 in way. But like a total noob ( never done a flash and new in the mining world) i have to :
- save original bios
- flash the card with your modded bios
- tweak the frequencie/voltage
-
and then i am good to go ?
1) Strapped: Took the 1500 and copied to the three settings larger than 1500. Watch this video that shows you how to strap. I did the same method:
2) On the MSI Afterburner I set the Memory Clock to 2000 and the Core Clock to 1150 and press the check(Apply). This should get you the 28mhs.
3) Now I go to WattTool and look at the numbers for each gpu individually. In this case for gpu "0:Radeon (TM) RX 470 Graphics" look at the mV number in "R7" = 1150mV. I do not want this number less than 1000mV. This is just my preference. Look at the Voltage Offset. Whatever number you put in here it will be multiplied x 6.25 so, 20 x 6.25 = 125. 1150 - 125 = 1025mV(which is above 1000) so this one would be -20 and then click "Set" This gpu should now produce much lower watts.
4) Go to the next gpu and evaluate the number and make the changes in the Voltage Offset based upon the mV number in "R7." Each gpu will be different.
Thank You driest_do_urden for your GREAT help with the MSI RX 470 gpu's!! You Rock!
Here are my results thanks to you:
-6 MSI Radion RX 470 Gaming X
-MSI RX 470 gpu01 80.5% Hynix
-MSI RX 470 gpu02 79.8% Hynix
-MSI RX 470 gpu03 73.1% Hynix
-MSI RX 470 gpu04 65.0% Hynix
-MSI RX 470 gpu05 64.9% Hynix
-MSI RX 470 gpu06 73.7% Hynix
-strapped,
-total system hashing = 169.6mh
-each gpu hashing = 28.3mh
-ave card wattage = 67W
-total system Watts = 831W (At the Wall)
-total system Amps = 6.91A (At the Wall)
Efficiency per Card = W/Mhs = 67/28.3 =2.37 (Less is better)
Efficiency per system = W/Mhs = 831/169.6 = 4.90 (Less is better)
Thank you man i will try it that way
1150/2000
-96 on volt
with out a problem then I needed to reboot my system now I cant even mine for 2 hours with these settings also put the volt at default no luck
Now i have the memory clocked at 1900 lets hope its stable now
