    rx 470 = gpu 2 on print
    ETH = 31.6 mh/s
    DCR = 316 mh/s
GPU power draw 75w (by GPU-Z)
Now i will test if it is stable.

@Koody Can you please share the rom?

See a lot of screenshots of miner with extremely low times. Are these speeds stable? Let's see some with 12-24 hours+ Running an rx470 for 7 minutes at 29 mh/s doesn't do anyone much good if it is crashing every time you turn around.

@cveks i have got a lil over 30Mh on all the msi 470 4gb ive tried so far but at that point it starts to heat up
i kinda prefer around 28Mh since it runs under 65 watts in gpu-z and under 58C
but 29 seems to run pretty well so maybe i just need more tweaking

@d3strange i always restart on pools occasionally especially dwarfpool
ive noticed shares drop on every miner after 2-4 hours
otherwise 28 and 29 is very stable on any msi 480 4g or saphhire 470 8gb i have just depends on how much ur undervolting
all my msi seem to get under 70watts in gpu-z the saphhires seems to run hotter at around 80watts, more tweaking prolly drop 10 watts or more depending on asic for either

Anyone knows how to set VDDC or VDDCI offset on ASUS RX 470 4GB ?
Its bios and voltage management differs from all the other brands.
WattTool does not support offset settings on it.
The memory is only stable up to 1870MHz @950mV
I tested [email protected] and it seems stable, but I don't want to run the GPU also at 1050mV. Hence I'd like to set VDDC/VDDCI offset, but did not find how.
    Thanks in advance.

edit: i2cdump shows results on device 20.

@Marvell9 @MMK took ur advice and applied it to some other cards, thx again
msi 470 4gb gpu2, still got some room to go on this card but this profile runs on all the msi 470 4gs i got

    it's msi gaming x 470 4gb? hynix ram?

  • cidmocidmo Member Posts: 446 ✭✭✭
@muzzy124 yea 4gb has the hynix, 8gb has micron
8gb only gets me about 22mh but barely uses any watts, dont think its low enough tho
want more sapphire 470 8gb and msi 470 4g, they seem to be the gold
never liked powercolor but i guess they are hynix too

Yes, all three Sapphire 8 gb.

Hallo MMK, This setting saphire 470 8 Gb Refference or 470 8gb nitro? thanks you

Okay, it did run overnight and this seems to be the best setup for me now.
    Memory straps 1750 -> 2000.
Power consumption 540W, it is 8h average calculated from my meter.
I believe its is about 150-160 per card and 80 for the rest of the system.
Asic quality for all three cards is about 80% each.
For some reason GPU2 is not stable like the other two, I can't get it better than this MHS/W.
    -dcri setting is 18.

I also run the max test short time, power consumption was then 610-620 W. Lots of tweaking!
    -dcri settings is 14
I believe that these are the max hash rates for my cards with this setup.

You can get more if you set core higher, I believe 31.5 is achievable.
This also means that you have to have free electricity :)
Because I had to tweak so much I don't want to show setup for that.
First picture is stable and fairly easy to achieve.

Hi all. I read that in MSI 470 4GB now Micron memory instead Hynix
    Is it true? Anybody know?
    Sorry for bad English.

Can someone upload watttool to an alternative location and share a link? I am absolutely unable to even create an account at overclock.net

Can you say something about Micron overclocking? How far overclock Hynix and Samsung in 470/480 i know, but dont know what friquency can achieve Micron

Anyone have results for Gigabyte RX 470 4 GB? Which memory chip does it use?
  • Zorg33Zorg33 Member Posts: 220 ✭✭
@cveks Yes I had one. Hynix RAM.
The same 27-28Mh is achievable as usual.
But I had to set 1050mV VDDCI and -100mV VDDC offset for the GPU.

The memory chip variant should show up in GPU-Z.

micron is shit as it is with gtx1070 :) samsung rules forever :)
currently stuck at 1750 mem, testing further

I know that mate but I never found anyone here having one Gigabyte or Powercolor RX 470

Nevermind, I just ordered 4 of them so I will see soon which chip do they have and how good they are for mining.

    Gigabyte is HYNIX
  • Zorg33Zorg33 Member Posts: 220 ✭✭
Yes i already wrote my experiences with GB 470.
One thing that might have mislead me is that i had a display plugged in one of them, that caused serious instability at low vddci voltages. I had to set it at 1050mV.
I just learned that recently. Unfortunately i already sold my GBs.

Do you mind to share your ROM?

So at this point we can say that all RX 470 with exception of Asus are good for memory overclock with custom bios ?
  • adasebadaseb Member Posts: 1,043 ✭✭✭
Don't understand why everybody complains about Gigabyte.

The speeds are identical to MSI. It has a backplate and it has more copper for the cooling than the MSI.

    Hello I bought Sapphire rx 470 4Gb nitro+.
But when I grab bios with AtiWinflash I was surprised!

    Numbers of Timing(MKz) is strange, don't have 1500, 1750 or 2000 Mhz.
    Bios is 113-1E3471U.O5O E347PRO A1.....

I've never seen such kind of Timing!!!

I am not sure if mode bios with some rom form here to damage video card? What do you think?
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B6vofcgy8sqJbXVDTlhrM3E3Vms

On the picture you can see that with original bios and with 1000/2025MHz I make ~25 Mh

Neither have I. Please report this as a bug to the on the Polaris bios Editor Github page.
And please do not flash another cards BIOS as it could make your card unstable, or even kill it.
Be happy with 25 mh/s thats a good number.

@ico What memory type does GPU-Z show for your card? And could you upload your bios somewhere.

Just got 3x sapphire nitro+ 470s with Elpida memory and that's exactly what I get on Polaris editor.
Can't find a rom anywhere for those.

elpida is the better kind? i cant remember if hynix or elpida was the good stuff for the 7000s/200s

also thats the sapphire nitro RX 470 100407NT? i still have an option to grab a few of those for $185 each
