How did you run power to that room to not start flipping breakers?
yes good question! my house is very old and has only one 16A breaker for all power outlets in the house - so when I want to run the dishwasher I have to stop one rig mining for 90 minutes or the breaker goes - and I only have 2 rigs with 10 GPUs!
Bought 8 (1 spare) and lucky I did.. had sparks fly on a first power on the last rig I built. So have RMA'd it. Spare worked no issues
Also a mix of 8GB and 4GB (30x8GB 12x4GB)
I assume you mean the Cougar GX1050w Gold, I was going to purchase this unit, but after doing some research its apparently a 6 rail psu, the 6 pci-e are spread across 3 rails, but all the sata appear to be all on the one rail, according to this vid. which would mean your powering 6x risers from the one rail? can you confirm or debunk this?

Run sub panel to main panel. 240V drops. 125AMP total possible to sub panel. Took the A/C window unit out of the window and put 7800CFM whole house fan in. Passive cooling now and no longer have to worry about heat issues. Can put total of 25-30 rigs in the room. only 14 atm though
In your testing setup, looks like the cards are only supported on the connection side. Are they hanging there or is there a beam to support below? kind of hard to tell from the pics.
Only supported on the connection side which is enough
@Heliox that's smart - and explains the battery drill with the driver bit in it right? I wish I'd thought of that because my woodworking skills are crap and the frames I built are unecessarily complicated - I could have just used the @Heliox method of "one piece of MDF and self tapping screws". Simple but effective.
It's not a "perfect" setup, but it works. It's small and compact, so i can fit these in a rack and if something is wrong i just plug out the power and the network cable and i can take the complete rig out to work on it
@newmz tell me about it, i got my bill for the last quarter a couple of weeks ago, it was just under 3k .
Yes.. I think my bills are bi-monthly and my last one was $1200. That was before I added 3 more 290s & a 390 too. Was using some 280Xs but they just burn power for not much hash-rate. So Now I have 5 x 290s, 2 x 290Xs, 1 x 390 & 2 x 380s.
If I could go back in time I think I would have got all 380s because I can run them at core 800, mem 1500, getting about 20-21mh/s while using not much power and running in the low 50s temperature!
The approaching Aussie summer is really worrying me. 290s are just heat machines!
@newmz yeh dude ill either be moving these to a mine shaft or selling up by summer and i also wish i did the 380 thing, the room this rig is in is constantly 35 degrees+

Does the airconditioner keep the room "cold"? I have a similar setup, but not able to keep (40) 280x's cool with a 14k BTU AC unit in a 20x20 room. Do you have any fresh air or exhaust venting?

I pulled out A/C unit and returned it. Put 7800 CFM fan in to suck that hot air out. Working as expected and no the A/C unit did not keep the room cold. It is a 25 BTU unit.
Here are mine, sitting at a datacenter with usually 5 cards (I use EVGA 1300 G2's in them so I don't want to go over the limits). Love the custom cases my buddy builds for me. Once I switch all to rx 480's I'll use all 6 risers or 8 with small extender boards)
Here's my rig.. 6x Fury X GPUs, 2x ATX1500i PSU's (because i love overhead), MSI Z97 GAMING 5 mobo, i7-4790S processor, Samsung 120GB SSD, 32GB Team Dark RAM. Currently building an aluminum frame to mount the GPU radiators on to clean it up a bit. Cable management is proving tricky with the open-air frame!

Still updating ROMs on all the cards. Might worry about cable management later...might not.
Top shelf is the 'testing' rig where I have a known stable card putting out video and the other card is tweaked to determine best ROM for that card.
Shelf is big enough to put 6xGPU on each rig from risers. Waiting on more to come in.
Here's one of my playgrounds.
And here's my testing setup (before i deploy them to my other warehouse).
I had to turn on the LED's haha..
Greetings!

my rig atm minus 3x r9 390s as i got a refund from the retailer after 4 months of mining on them. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
That is correct!

Ghetto Rig V2 was yesterday
Now i made a few rigs and cleaned all cards.
I just need around 4000 eth to finish it off. Donations welcome 0x75844cd6D4C16141b218d034fb7907eC3F691C57

7x 290X
Two questions tho; how do you make 290x run at 32,8MHs? And why is the second setup running 10% slower?
It was late and I did not experiment. Tomorrow will fix that.
PS: It was evening ... and new experiment RIG
