All RX 480s die after 15 days.

I bought 3 rx 480 ( 15 days ago ). Know i have some issues with it.

First card: xfx rx 480 8GB OC- i have no idea with it. I drop mh/s from 27 to 23 and then it'll up to 24 -> 27 -> 23. ( 2-3 hours late, windows'll be restart because of error )

Next card: MSI RX 480 8GB - it's really hot and noise. ( 80% fan for 75-79•C in cool room )

Final card: MsI RX 480 8GB- i didn't see it in manager device. When I changed rx 470, i saw rx 470. ( can't use it now :/ )

LMAO. I must return them to amazon tomorrow. Goodbye ref card. :)) i'll come with Red Devil. I got them today.

I'm using claymore for mining, 6xCards tool in 4rum.

My setting:

-16,5/ 890, 880,....810
2200/ 940
Fan 10-80% - temp: target 70- max 80 - power limit: keep 0.

Or

-8,5/ 910,900,...810
2200/940
Fan 10-80%- temp: target 70-80 - power limit: 10

Thank @boysie but i'm give up with ref card.

I have the same problem as in the first paragraph. Died 5 cards rx 480 ref. After downloading Windows error thread stuck in device driver. All 5 of the graphics card died in the first 24 hours. The remaining 30 pieces of work from a week to a month. All the cards worked on the same settings. Chip 1130mhz 900mv, memory 2200mhz 900mv. Mining only eth. Flashed the Bios, only the timings. 2 of 5 dead cards were not flashed. Visible damage no. In safe mode is determined. Disabled drivers are also. The monitor sees this picture. Gpu-z other working card on screen.

    Could it be because of settings?(Chip 1130mhz 900mv, memory 2200mhz 900mv)

All my eight reference cards have been working flawless for a month now.

I guess you just got a bad batch.

yeah i got that on early RX480, lower and lower hashrate, then crash and hang, and when re-turn on it was memory artifact, then I RMAed the GPU.

its faulty driver, i use early linux driver which doesn't correctly read GPU temp, hence fan does not increase, and then GPU burned

you should always set fan at 100% when running RX480, with latest driver it seems to be fixed, but i just always run at 100% just to be safe, better broken fans thanbroken GPU itself

    Quality / Speed / Cost

    Pick 2 :)

If we choose non-ref, some products can't better than ref. I got 2 red evil, after tried undervolt, .... It's run about 22 to 26.8 mh/s. I tried my best ! :/
