Thanks for the tests. So, the devil is about 200~210W from the wall? Just for comparison, Asus DC2 290 Eth only also 28.x MHs, 200W from the wall. 200W Eth only I think is quite a lot for a 480.
so is the bottom line that the 8-pin non reference rx480 is maybe only 1Mh/s faster? I am still waiting on an Asus to try it out..Anyone tried the Asus overclock gaming model yet?
I have the Red Devil 8G RX 480 and the XFX RX 480 GTR Black Edition 8G. The Red Devil is at ~27 and the XFX is about ~26. Based on this is was stupid to pay $300 for each of these cards for mining. I'm really pissed about the quality of the AIB cards. If I was building a rig I'm better off just buying 5 x RX 480 reference when they come out again, custom rom them for even higher hash rate and buy $500 in ether for the loss mining time. Now for non-mining, the Red Devil is quieter but longer. It also doesn't have a big LED light on it like the XFX. I was ok making this jump because these are my two gaming cards and I figure I would give it a try.

The Reference has 8000 MHz memory. Why in the world would AIB screw us over and put crappy memory on is beyond me. Some even slower than 7000 MHz! The Reference is $200 when it was in stock and there is a custom rom that can low power you with a 29 hash rate. The Nitro is the second best option and any 470 with a 7000 MHz memory would be the third best option. The 470 would have a lower resale.

Stop. But they have better than reference cooling system - so that cards can oc more than reference card. We must wait for moded bios. I think red devil and xfx too can give 30-32mh\s
Yes the cooling and 8 pin power are useful, but the $$$ for it not so sure.
Devil X Powercolor 8 gb cost just 10$ more than reference msi (100% can solo 31mh\s and dual 30-400 sia) but + have dual fan + dual bios + good design Need more tests for this card
My 3x HIS RX480 IceqX2 came with 8000Mhz mem by default. Running more quiet and lower fan speed than my RX470 Nitro 8gb. I like this HIS Iceqx2 more than Nitro. Nitro fan can be loud at time. Also, price for a HIS RX480 iceQ is like US18 more than Sapphire RX470 nitro in my country. If I want to go AIB RX480. His is my choice now because it seller cheapest among other AIB RX480 in my country
Well that is because of price hiking. The RX 480 MSRP 8GB is $250, $50 for a better fan, dual bios, design might be worth it; however, for mining I think higher hash would be more important. Now in due time there maybe a bios for the Devil. Oh I should of mention I run my Devil at 8,800 Mhz at 69 degrees
I assume I have version 1 because it has the upside now logo. At stock I get 24.7 I normally run it at 8800 MHz / 920mv for the memory. I get 27.1 at those settings. I can't dual mine it I assume because I don't have a rig yet so the card is getting warm in my case. Or maybe my settings are too high that claymore crashes on anything above dcri above 25.

Which brands/cards of 480's come with 7000? (So i can avoid)
For what its worth. i just ordered a "best buy" custom XFX 480 8-pin card. Looks like the fans might light up.. Model: RX-480P8LDLR . Memory says 8000MHz in specs, and 1288 clock, with backplate. Supposedly these have replaceable fans.
@bluelogic - Yes I figured they gave that newegg model a new model name just for bestbuy and raised the price (so they don't have to price match 289 vs. 269). They changed the color of the fans too. Just worked out for me to buy BB instead of Newegg

According to Sapphire website:
4Gb = 1750mhz
8GB = 2000mhz
I worred 4GB version will be limited to max 2100Mhz when OC. Instead of 8GB 2250Mhz
Thank you
While i compare those two, i could perhaps come up with something new and refreshing
So @kristofferjon @core16 @Iliketurtles @bluelogic
If you guys wouldn't mind sharing yours
Need more tests for this card

Dumped using GPUz
By the way did this just become the best AIB card : http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/powercolor-to-release-an-unlocked-bios-for-rx-480-red-devil.html
I missed that though.
i'll be checking those out as soon as i'm at the office.
@indytim
yes, that would be awesome
Greetings!
It is louder than the Devil and about an inch shorter. I personally hate LEDs on mining equipment.
