Can anyone confirm if there is a difference in hashrate between the two? I know on stock settings the 4gb model hashes lower due to lower stock mem, but can you just overclock the mem and end up with the same result as the 8gb model?
Also, is there a preferred brand for the 480s? I have some XFXs backordered, want to make sure there isnt a better option.

@Sequoia93 if you can get your hands on reference 4GB vrsion it will work much better for mining due to more flexibility on clocks and lower power draw.

in this review 4GB overclocked only from 1750 to 1795MHz
8Gb have 2000MHz memory chips
I got very tired, very quickly, of trying to figure out which card was which in Wattman. Wattman does not seem to consitently id all cards the same from one boot to the next, so the 4gb was card 4 sometimes, card 5 other times. which meant I way overclocked it a couple times, causing my system to immediately crash.
Bottom line: until the config tools improve (and right now they are a PITA), get all cards the same. And the 8gb are capable of higher mclock rates and therefore hashrate.
is newegg fucking with me?
