Unable to connect to Bootstrap peer?

Hi,

I am brand new and really have no idea what I am doing. I just built the go implementation for debian and this seems to be as far as I can get:

[email protected]****:~/go/bin$ ./ethereum
2014/06/18 21:28:46 UPnP failed write udp4: i/o timeout

2014/06/18 21:28:46 [SERV] Adding peer (54.200.139.158:30303) 2 / 10
.... (lots of line noise here, mostly traffic with the 1st peer)
2014/06/18 21:29:16 Connection to peer failed dial tcp 54.200.139.158:30303: i/o timeout

I am guessing it cannot proceed without being able to connect to the bootstrap peer. Is there maybe a way to get around this? Maybe a different server to bootstrap with? Or is this normal output?
