I'm in the UK. You know, part of Europe at the moment! It seems that there are no, or very few peers on the network out there.
I'm trying to get the Mist Ethereum-Wallet to synchronise. It runs for a while, then dies for lack of peers.
I run geth, and it will pull in a few blocks, then just sits and waits for peers.
I've tried Ethereum-Wallet on its own
I've tried a number of command line options with just geth.
I've tried starting geth from the command line, waiting until it starts syncing, then starting Ethereum _Wallet
Which leads me to think, that maybe there are no peers, because nobody much is using it any more? Which on the face of it seems to be not the case.
I've been on this for days and days now. Read just about every post there is, mostly old posts at that.
I can't do squat if I can't get this thing to synchronise.
I'm up to block 1,199,286 of 1,612,614 ... and it's been stuck on that for ages. hmmmm. let me see.
geth shows 16 minutes ago. Opps - it just pulled in another one.
So it seems that it has to process each block before pulling in the next one!
makes sense, but boy is it slow. I'm on a Mac Mini. Not the fastest kid on the block, but should be fast enough for a bit of processing.
