If you want the best thing on the market to do this in the safest way, get some of these: www.add2psu.com
I use them in all my rigs and they auto shutoff the second power supply if the main one shuts down, which a paper clip or stuffing a wire into two holes on a plug won't do.
And what if you add two out of four gpu's straight to the second power supply and turn that off manually when you turn off the pc? Is that not a possibility?
@Rymlen yes, this is possible and this is exactly what I am planning to do. i have one PSU that is driving PC with the HD7950 card; i am adding two more HD 7950 cards via 1X slots and risers. I will connect second PSU (CX750) to these cards and risers. That second PSU needs to be "jumped" with a paperclip or something similar (EVGA 1300 even comes with a jumper these days). Second PSU is not connected to the motherboard.
You power up second PSU first, then turn up PC. When turning off, turn PC off first, then second PSU.
That said, add2psu looks like a nice hassle free option for less than $20.
What happend if 3 GPU's poweroff first ? Do i have to fast ?
Generally its not a good idea to run a PSU with no load, so if you are worried about that just attach a small fan or some old SATA drive to the 2nd PSU.
Thanks. Btw how can i calculate 6x R9 390x consume? Is there any tool or device for that ? I'm not sure the techical document was right. It tells R9 390x on load 375Watt. Is it posible ? Or when we are mining is it fully loaded?
Just buy an add2psu and call it a day. Then you don't have to worry about turning on and off the second PSU, especially when the main PSU turns off and the second one is still on without you knowing about it.
@daisy17 kardeşim 3 ayrı ekran kartını tek güç kaynağında diğerlerinide ayrı güç kaynağında çalıştırabilirsin herhangi bir ekstra kablo almana gerek yok. nasıl hesaplayacağım dersen güç kaynaklarının da verimlilik olayı var eğerki 375w çekiyor diyorsan 3x ekran kartın. 500w +- %20 lik iki tane güç kaynağı ile sorunsuz kullanabilirsin.

Of course you could just do this yourself and use the I/O switch on the back of the PSU to turn it on and off. Here's a guide on that http://aphnetworks.com/tutorials/psu_paperclip_trick

Just start the 2nd PSU about a second earlier than the primary.
And if you want to turn off the rig, you will need to manually turn it from the - to o on the PSU or else it will keep running.
The PSU can burn-out if its run without a load.
