Is there owners of AMD HD 6930/6950/6970/6990 GPUs?
How many hashes are you getting from it?
Since i'm building a farm on cheap used GPUs any information would be appreciated.

Done some testing for friend. Got around 10MH/s at clocks 920/1350 and bit lower voltage.

Thanks mate, looks like 7870/7950/7970 will be more cost-effective for me.

@hanzzs208, 7990's (2x 7970's) pull ~50Mhs for a TDP of 375W. They're the most cost efficient hash for around $400~$500, but kinda rare now. I have one in one rig and still waiting for a second in shipping. Currently pulling 470W at the wall but will be swapping out the 95W TDP Phenom x4 for something lower powered. It'll be more cost effective with the second 7990 in it and with it's 1200W PSU I may even have the power budget for a 280x or something also.

Check my spreadsheet to get an idea of how cards stack up depending on what you can get them for.

@o0ragman0o, yep, 7990 is great one. But it's really rare. I'm already mining with 280x and 7870 ( cost me ~170$ for both) and going to buy another 280x( or 7970). But maybe i'll try to buy 7990 instead ( one used available in my city). Hope my old 1250W PSU with 1125W on +12V good enought for 7990 + 280x + 7870.

I have old GPUs and MB (775 ddr2 P4) , all my GPU rigs are 6990 and 5870 , working since 11/2012 , Cypresses and Caymans are super-strong

When I built these rigs was the cheapest way to mine , and had incredible cost/hasrate ratio. Most of MB were outtdated , and some damaged, purchased a lot on ebay. Finally i built a frankenstein rig, with celerons, used GPUs and trash MOBOs, supercheap and with great hashrate....

But thats the good news, the bad news are lot of hours of work and problems.

If you are planning to mine, do it properly , dont buy old GPUs, its not worth it in my experience. Buy powerful and efficient GPUs , and buy new , to sell later.

@liveanddream, thanks for advice. I'm already mining with 2x7870 and 2x280x GPUs. Hope i'll able to sell them when mining become unprofitable.

are you running the 6990 successfully?
    i get the error
Creating one big buffer for the DAG
Allocating/mapping single buffer failed with: clCreateBuffer(-61). GPU can't all
ocate the DAG in a single chunk. Bailing.
    i have 8gb ram
    thanks

RAM does not matter. gpu memory is what matters. Try this: SET GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT = 100
