Hello I'll message Caktux to get that fixed, in the meantime you can ask for someone to send you some testnet ether here: https://gitter.im/ethereum/go-ethereum
Been trying to sync it with the testnet for over a week, after I bought some extra storage for the AWS instance... It's currently less than a thousand blocks behind and was actually synced a few hours ago; will make sure it's working when it's synced again, but can't guarantee how long it'll stay that way..
Do you mean doing the snapshot, create volume from snapshot, unmount old volume, fsck new volume, resizefs new volume, mount new volume, test everything - song and dance? I haven't figured out how to do this any faster yet, I just wanted to poke fun at the process.
It's a site that will send you a little bit of ether for you to play with - be it running contracts or sending money around. It doesn't send much, but it's a nice way to get started with Ethereum.
Well, if you can show me any other trusted method of giving away my money to a larger amount of interested people I'd be happy to listen. Previous faucets were drained because they imposed none or insufficient restrictions.
