MSI RX480 Gaming X Hashrate

Hi there im testing my MSI RX480 Gaming X, Flashed the bios and let it run at core 1335 mhs and memory at 2350. The thing is im only getting 29Mhs. Im using the latest claymore mining software.

Any tips or tricks which i can use to bump up the hashrate even more?

    I also have the msi 480 gaming x 8gb .
    Get 27 and 160w tpu.
    Core 1055 930mV
    Mem 2200 960mV

    Im running 2 480gaming x and 1 sapphire in one rig. For the whole system 590W dualmining, 29.5mhs 400sia per card. Think I had like ~500W mining only ETH.

    i would prolly go thru the thread for the msi 480 think theres a boysie one
    or the 480 thread or use the search feature
    im quite certain the info ur looking for is somewhere here in many spots
    other than that anything above 27-28Mhs has very diminishing returns hash/watt

    What did you do with the BIOS? Just copy the mem timing from 1750 to 2000. That's all you need to change to bump up the hashrate.

    I've got two MSI 480 Gaming X rigs, Windows 10, Claymore, Crimson 16.9.2 drivers, 1303 core 2250 mem, getting 31.3 mh/s per card stable. I don't bother with power usage, I don't pay utilities.

    MSI 4g gaming X is a bit*h.. Hynix on all my 6 cards. But I am undervolting quite a bit now with 1500 strap. I get 27.9 on ETH and 26.8 on ETH dual mining. 1080/875 on core and 1930/950. At wall 135 and 145 without and with dual at wall.

    Thank for the settings - extremely helpful! Can I do all of this using msi afterburner or will I need to get into bios editing to undervolt core and mem separately? noob question - what is strap?

    Miner slang for the memory timings used for a given range of memory clocks.

    Do you mind sharing a couple of software details with me? Like OS version, and radeon driver version? Right now I am on Win 7 (but have win10 available), latest Claymore, latest Radeon drivers, doing about 21 ETH. I was able to use wattman to move the memory to 1930/950, but any changes to core crashes the card. I don't understand the State0 thru State7 settings in WattMan, though, so I am probably doing something wrong. maybe a screen shot of your WattMan?

    I also tried -5% power usage in the MSI Afterburner, and still 230 watts at the wall (150 in radeon manager while mining).

    I know Claymore recommends radeon 15.12 but that version doesn't seem to support the RX cards, at least in Win7.

    My goal for this rig is power efficiency, not hashrate, since I am paying $0.21kwh here in Taxachusetts, so I REALLY am interested in your 140watt rig.

    I really appreciate your willingness to share any of those details to get me in the right direction wattage wise.

    @bhanu545 every card is different. Some will overclock insanely high, and some won't clock higher then stock without crashing. Same story with VRAM timings - some chips will run crazy tighter timings without memory errors, but others will only work at stock timings.

    Agreed. My MSI Gaming X 4G 480 does 29, but no more. Hynix, as well.

    Can you share your clock memory clock/voltage and wattage at wall or GPU please? If you can please pm me your rom. I will like to give it a try. Please let me know if it is stable too

    I have Sappahire rx470 Nitro+ OC modded strap 1500 > 1750,2000 with 78.8% asic quality but i can't pass 1920mhz   it keeps crashing.
    any advise? :(
