Hey everyone..
Like many users here i am also new trying to build my first mining rig, in the last days i have searched everywhere for best setups.. and i really need your help to correct me if i am wrong with the setup or is good to go!
Anyway i still have few questions:
ethOS is the best choice? (as i read on windows is hard or maybe impossible to make it work with 6 cards at once)
Does the pcie extenders/adapters have to meet some specific requirements
http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/GJEAAOxyCGNTLk2G/s-l1600.jpg?
Is it worth to go with R7 370 instead of R9 380x ?
A Motherboard Case Power Switch On/Off/Reset with LEDs Litecoin is a must have?
Best place to find a good rig case?
Solo mining or pool? If pool what is the best one?
Here is the setup for my rig (please recommend if better ideas, i am not a super tech guy at all):
Mobo: Asrock H81 Pro BTC
GPU: 4-6 Radeon R9 380X 4g
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core G3258 3.2GHz
RAM: 2x HyperX Fury Black 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz
SSD: 64g ssd
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 G2
How much Mh/s ill get with this, around 100 - 120 ?
What else am i missing here?
Thanks to everyone reading this!!

Why 1600W PSU? I suggest 1300W EVGA G2 at half the price or about
Get just one 8gb stick of RAM
H97 anniversary is newer and has the same 6 slots
380X has no advantage over 380, but cost more
I got $55 240gb SSD, but people do get smaller. Higher make sense for "after mining" usage later on.
For 6XR7 370 (135W usage per), 1300W PSU should be sufficient, for 6XR9 380 also (200W usage per), but not much to spare.
someone recommended me the 1600w one.. if 1300w will be enough for my rig then ill go with that
H97 also because is using new chipset?
thank you! thank you!!
use H97 Anniversary instead Asrock H81 Pro BTC
use just one stick 8gb ram instead of 2x 4gb The price difference between 380 and 380x is very small.. like $30 less or more.. you say that with 6 380 4gb gpu's ill get the same Mh/s as with 380x 4gb?
r7 370 4gb / r9 380 4gb / r9 380x 4gb what gpu will you choose for your rig?
Also does it really matter the producer ? Sapphire, Asus, MSI etc?
Mobo (UPDATED): H97 Anniversary (http://amzn.to/1UupYtr)
GPU: 4-6 Radeon R9 380 4g (http://amzn.to/1TkemZ1)
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core G3258 3.2GHz (http://amzn.to/1PH6c5Z)
RAM (UPDATED): 1x HyperX Fury Black 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz (http://amzn.to/1SoxzDV)
SSD (UPDATED): ethOS 16gb SSD (http://gpushack.com/collections/gpushack/products/ethos-16gb-ssd)
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 G2 (http://amzn.to/1PH6hXB)
Other parts:
USB 3.0 cable extender with PCI-E Riser: (http://amzn.to/1UuaR3b)
Case: i love this one but i think it is overpriced so i decided to build a similar one http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/z/GJEAAOxyCGNTLk2G/$_57.JPG and http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/z/tvwAAOxyhXRTLk2C/$_57.JPG
Also for risers, just use the Asrock BTC Kit risers, they are powered and well made - you won't have problems with them like the crap ones coming out of China that people have been complaining about.
I had not idea about the Asrock BTC Kit risers , looks awesome!! ill get the H97 Anniversary instead ASRock H81 BTC.. but those should fit i guess.
I´m using a small Pentium G3260T, and after ethminer has started and created DAG, the CPU load is at 0 - max. 2% afterwards.

works just fine, fits that motherboard.
I will also post updates here till the forum will be closed.
Unboxing ethOS 16GB SSD from gpuShack http://1stminingrig.com/unboxing-ethos-16gb-ssd-3-1x-16x-usb-risers-gpushack/
Should i create new account in my wallet for each rig ? How do you guys do it?
thanks!
ethos local.conf is default atm

using ethermine.
Reported Hashrate: 13.6 MH/s
Note: This is the hashrate as reported by your miner to the pool.
Effective Current Hashrate: 7.8 MH/s
Note: The effective current hashrate is calculated according your submitted shares using a 60 minute window. If you start mining on the pool it will take up to 2 hours till the displayed hashrate is accurate. As this value depends on the luck of your miners deviations from your real hashrate are normal.
Effective Average Hashrate (last 24h): 13.9 MH/s
Note: The calculation of this indicator is similar to the effective current hashrate but using a 24 hour window.
Is this ok? As i seen the r7 370 should do a 14 to 15 mh/s
thanks!
