I'm trying to get some ether to test Ethereum. I've followed instructions from https://www.ethereum.org/ether that is: create an account, make it the coinbase and start mining. However several hours past after DAG completed and my account seems to be empty. The command I used:

geth -etherbase '2' -mine -minerthreads '4'

1. how can i get sure, which account is my current coinbase?

2. how long it can take to get some fractions of ether. I wonder because in instructions they don't mention that it might take so long.

I'm using ubuntu 14.04 with 'CPU Intel Core i7-3520' and i'm totally new to the subject. Just want to get to know this new technology.
