Can I copy the blockchain db from one node to another?

I've got a Raspberry Pi Model B running geth and it's very slowly building up the blockchain db. If I ran geth on a faster Windows PC could I then copy the blockchain db files, once it had caught up to the current block, to the R-Pi, and then it would be able to keep up with the current block?

You can use admin.exportChain and admin.importChain to move it, but it looks like the receiving node has to verify all the data because it's taken over an hour to do 2500 blocks.
