davidrentao, thanks a lot. I can mine now with your instruction. However, when I type in 192.168.1.101:8080, the web browser just shows "Ethereum startum proxy", no other display. I use Windows.
@cryptorush, i save the electricity in this period, and most time point on bitcoin market, might be you can choose other algo, like quark, or X algo...i testing many time on quark algo. it's real reduce the fees and very stable to mange rigs.
i thought many people switch to bitcoin to make profit in this period, so make ETH value very lowest. we just keep the mining waiting next time.
other think of ETH, such as faster miner release. i thought it's very importance of ETH, some people got it and keep the profits in this time, so the hash not going down, also value drop, if someone can release it. the value will be good than now.
i thought you have skills on re-write opensource, hurry up, make profit for yourself.
@davidrentao where I can read about this "faster miner release." As far as i know the current one is perfect in hashrate terms and no one optimized it so far.
And the one I know is a scam with malware from newbie account.
Is it possible for the proxy to move to backup pool if the main pool does not update for 2 min?
At present, if there is certain interruption, the geth is still alive but will not update new blocks. So the ethminer keeps on mining the same block all the time.
@Eastwind currently proxy will switch to backup node only if main node does not respond: dead, http 500, etc. I'll consider another failover strategy when node stuck, can't give you any ETA for now.
You can't use backup pools, only backup nodes. If node goes down, proxy will switch to backup node. You can define unlimited number of backup nodes. Proxy will switch to backup node only if main node goes down.
If single request to upstream daemon failed, proxy immediately switches to backup node. Every 5 seconds (default upstreamCheckInterval) proxy perform check of each daemon and mark it dead or alive. If failed node backup, proxy will switch back.
@cryptorush, can you update some information on top, such as total running time, or avg mine block per hours. bcz we need calculate mine block per hours or direct make exchange rate table on top. i thinking you understand my words, however, if your proxy can read GPU temp or freq better, it's better control the miner. i know some people using MSI afterburner to read GPU information, and make a lists to checking miner.
if you are interest the opensource, i can talking more.
I think I will add some features later, but GPU temp and frequency is not proxy responsibility. ethminer has no API and I can't do anything with it. Afterburner is your friend.
I found that many people complains about geth stopping updating blocks, this is really weird geth's bug or network problems. I am going to add checks to proxy and mark current daemon as sick if it's several blocks behind than other daemons in upstream list and switch to winning daemon. Stay tuned.
v0.1.0-preview contains guards against stuck nodes and will switch to backup node if current node is several blocks behind. This preview need more testing, so use on your risk.
@cryptorush , my rig going down the hash rate around 1G when i updata geth wallet to 1.3.0 dev. don know where is mistake. local rigs looking fine, but avg hash lower 1g than before few days, it's show on 24 hours lists of etherchina.org. don know how to do now.
@davidrentao could be variance due to big difficulty spike, if you think something is wrong, switch back to stable version. I don't recommend using geth from develop branch, I always setting up only stable versions of geth (master branch).
right, i went back 1.2.3 version, i thought better then 1.3 dev, i thought you are right, but proxy newest 0.1.0 version got some problem, it's will be sotp mining, i will back 0.0.3 now.

How many back up pool can we have? I used 3 (1 main, 2 backup), the third does not work.

Check release notes carefully.

v0.0.3 is stable.
