So I've been thinking about the Family Trust contract idea.
Basically that two people can agree that on a certain date, some amount of funds will be released to their beneficiaries (e.g. children). Check out the 16 minute mark of this video narrated by Stephan Tual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=964&v=IgNjs_WaFSc
My question is, what if I want to make sure that my children get the proceeds in US Dollars? Since Ether is a currency that isn't backed by any country, for my children to use the proceeds from the Trust, they would have to convert the awarded ETH into USD before being able to spend it.
And because of this, there is a huge volatility risk. In other words, it would be very difficult for me to guarantee that they would get $5,000 USD because it is stored in ETH.
What are some ways around this? Or would this always require some sort of third party?
