we need Genoil , is he back from vacation :) ? looking forward to gddr5x optimizations , now that wddm2.1 solved previous issues

    try gigabytes tool

    http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Utility/gigabyte_xtreme_setup_v1.06.exe

got to advanced OC tab and set it to OC mode apply then go to OC tab and set the me 1500 and try

be sure to check that it doesn't reset OC mode it bugs some times if it does then enabled it again

    I'm running Win 10 Anniv + 369.09 + (110) 1.1.7 Genoil but am only getting around 20 MH w/ 1080 FE.

Is my batch file screwed up?

-G is for opencl you can use -U for cuda

So I've tried both -G and -U.. seems -U is giving me lower rates.

    =[

Same thing w/ and w/o those settings. Thanks for trying though, I'm sure I've screwed something up but can't seem to find any search results that are similar to my issue.

whats your gpu model? and brand
  • wzrdwzrd Member Posts: 5
Nvidia 1080 FE, straight from nvidia.com.
  • fidasxfidasx GreeceMember Posts: 26
ahhh thats the problem then the memory of 1080 is different form 1070 its GDDR5X its not good for mining ETH cause the miner is not optimized for that memory architecture

    every 1080 is the same

in comparison to 1070 that mines 25-26 MHS in stock
  • wzrdwzrd Member Posts: 5
ah gotcha, ok I never considered the RAM differences between the 1070 and 1080. thanks for the clarification.

np it will propably get fixed by Genoil

    18-20 MHS

for mining is better a R480 then a 1060 (same price). But 1070 are very good. with oc you get nice rates on a 1070!

    1060 vs 960--

If a 1060 is mining at 18-20 MH/s, it is outperforming a 960 mining at 10MH/s by nearly 100%. A 1060 should use less energy for the task.

I could conceivably expand my 5 card 960 rig into a 6 card 1060 rig, and more than double the hash rate (52MH/s to more than 100MH/s) with the same power supply. --scryptr

    sounds like a clear strategy

    Hi everyone,

I have a 1070 and W7. I tried to understand what i have to do to mine without problems with this videocard.

¿Need to change drivers? ¿Install WDDM 2.1? I don't find it. ¿Do i have to change drivers or something?

Sorry but I'm really lost with last comments of people saying it's working.

    Thanks in advance.

why are you guys talking about +1600 mem settings when NOBODY can know your starting point ...

as in +1600 to WHAT value ...

your card could be in p2 state or ANY other state and that is why you can set +1600 mem to begin with, BECAUSE you add that value to a lower setting ...

BESIDES ALL THAT just state your TOTAL memory clock ... there is no need to to tell anybody what you add ...

I'm sorry to sound a little bit harsh, take it with a grain of salt but it's mind boggling seeing you guys talking of a value you add to something yet not stating to what value you add that ... :D:D:D

So if you guys want to help anyone please state simply your total amount.
    eg. 9000 MHz memory clock

(the same is true for core clocks ... simply state your endresult)

i think i said i went as far as +1600 ofcourse yes its 9600 hz did you fry your GPU and came here to revenge me?

not my problem if you cant understand exactly what i said anyways later....

When mining on the 10xx series of cards are your computers still useless in Windows? For example, I can still browse the web, watch a video, or most minor things on my AMD rig (if I wanted to) but on my desktop system with an nvidia card it's basically stuttering and useless while mining. Do the 10xx cards work the same way?

i can do most of the things fine on my PC it also depends of your cpu ram etc... one of the good things about the update 1607 is that windows WDDM 2.1 accelerates the user interface even if your PC resources are almost 100% for example mining

i can watch a movie fine or even play a game ofc the Hashrate will go down

that's interesting. It's my desktop PC I use for daily work but I let it mine overnight when I'm not using it. It's got 16GB of ram and a new CPU so that's not an issue...just seems to be a problem with the older NV cards.

Unfortunately, I can only get a decent hashrate using CUDA 6.5 and the older drivers on my GTX 960.

IF YOU ARE ON WIN 7 STAY THERE--

Update your drivers to the latest version at nVidia and you should be OK. Win 10 people are having problems, and until the drivers for Win 10 get completely fixed, stay on Win 7. --scryptr

Does anyone have a confirmed hashrate for the GTX 1060s? I've seen people say what they should do but no one mentions actually having one.
  • kpskps Member Posts: 23
As of now i have no problems mining with GTX 1080 on Windows 10 with anniversary update and 369.09 driver, hope they don't break something with next driver update as i use it as my daily driver.
