6x R9 390 - 31.1 Eth and 545 SIA per card with 1170w for each of two PSUs at the wall. And a big ass fan blowing to help keep temps below 71C and fans below 70%.
6x RX 480 - 26.7 Eth and 400 SIA per card with 1160w total power at the wall. Fan Rpms 3200-3800. All temps 79-80C.
Windows 10 15.12 driver, CDM v. 5.1, 5 x r9 390 1235 w from the wall 1235 x .87 Eva Gold 80+ = 1074 w. 27.1 mh Sia 520 mh. If Eth solo mining only. 960 w from the wall. 960 x .87 =835. 27.6mh
@indytim For very little hashrate lose you could save ~300w (for the 480rig)
>2000w is insane for the 390 rig, in my opinion.
Have you "free" power?
I pay USD $.08/kw-h so while it's not free, it's not expensive either. I would like to get the heat output down, though.
The 390 rig has only been up about 3 weeks, and I only just got it stable in the last 3-4 days. I'll be traveling a lot internationally for the next few weeks so the goal was to get it to the point where it could just run without babysitting - I'll actually drop the clock speeds and -dcred intensity before I leave so I'm not worrying about it.
I would like to flash the cards down maybe -40 mv or so. Right now I use Afterburner to drop them -10 I assume that's percent?
@indytim It is different with every miner, Although our goal is to ROI and to be profitable, the difference is what we pay in electricity. For me it starts at .15 kw-h and jumps into a different tier when I use x amount of electricity per month. So to be profitable I must undervolt/overclock. For your case at .08 kw-h I guess you can keep those settings and be profitable but you can also undervolt your 390 to save even more money on electricity cost.

Saving power is good obviously. I'm not going to make changes without having a chance to watch the system for a couple days, make sure it's stable. In a few weeks after all of my travel winds down I plan to revisit and see what I can do about the voltage. I am undervolting slightly as I said, but I think there is opportunity to do more.
Hi..anyone can share how to undervolt 280x and 380x?..this 2 card can undrvlt or not?
My Asus DC2T 280x used to underV with Win7 64 13.x 14.x drivers on scrypt days. somehow not with 15.x drivers. Last time it hash, 20.5MH 1100/1750 250W from the wall. Maybe other 280x type/brand could be underVed

Looks like.. Both my sapp 280x and amd xfx 380x disable the voltage.. I cannot adjust it using msi burner and 15.x driber..so i need to use driver 13.x or 14.x to enable this function?..
I'm thinking at 480 RX 8 GB ... I'd like to know what would be a good motherboard that will let me do overclock and undervolt without problems. I was thinking about this motherboard Asrock 1150 H97M Anniversary or this ASROCK H81 Pro BTC ... so in the future I may add more RX 480 ... Do you have suggestions? @Alexng what is your configuration? i see that you have 5 rx 480...

I run this card on my noob rig. Its makes around 17-18 mhs. I guess around 40$ a month.
Edit: It consumes around 220W no tweaking no overclocking nothing.
