    @Logicaluser

    True, best way is to just use GPU-Z :smile:

    Was just summing up the options.

    @Marvell9

    I do think he means amd though, if everything goes right, there should be some new ones this year. Same power as a 390(x) at half the power usage.

    We will see :)

    As for now, and definitely future wise as well, our nano's will perform perfectly fine and will definitely still be in the top of the mining scene :)

    @Marvell9 No, I mean AMD's Polaris cards which are scheduled for Q2 2016 (April-June)

    Anyone knows how low can I go with undervolting r9 280x (Gigabyte OC)?
    Default under load is 1.200V, I set it to 1.131V - can I go lower?

    I undervolting my gigabyte 280x at 1.094v with core and memory speeds of 1044/1500. They are very stable and run much cooler than before, over 10 degrees cooler. They hash at 19mh

    Don't remember the site, but article was about how AMD is pushing to have laptop version ready for back to school laptops, and that desktops cards would come afterwards towards end of Q3. I guess technically no one knows real date, I dont think AMD even knows right now, lol. Guess we will learn more on the 31st at Computex.
  • LogicaluserLogicaluser Member Posts: 214 ✭✭
    @Marvell9 No I meant AMD's Polaris cards.

    AMD has an event planned for June 1st @ Computex where we'll likely get further info, and then possibly even a product launch in time for E3 in mid-June

    Good research Marvell9. I modded R9 nano bioses a few weeks back to fit 12 rigs in a room. I have very similar power results and hash rates and it is nice to see others are having similar results.
  • Marvell9Marvell9 Member Posts: 593 ✭✭✭
    @pimpinag06 thanks , i just wanted to post it to see if others are getting the same results

    the research and real world results is leading me to part out all my 390s and 280x cards (only the voltage locked ones that i cant undervolt with bios mods)

    and swap them out for nanos. Yeah ill probbaly lose around 40% of my hashrate but right now heat is my main concern.

    Change setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 10 to 100 and use 15.12 driver, you will get 20+Mh/s per card.

    the 380s chipset only fairly recently got a bios editor, and few people talk about it outside of one huge thread over at overclock.net

    What do you think about the new amd cards. they say that some card will make only 50w. thats so impressive. New r9 470.

    It all depends on when they come out , i would rather be mining now than sitting around wondering, that said i am replacing my 280x and lower cards and some of my MSI 390s (hate those) with nanos but those are out now

    if you have temp problems, you may want to get a couple cheap milk cartons (psu on in bottom one, mobo in top) and powered (usb or oldschool) risers

    What is the deal with nanos? they seem to have much worse mhs/price ratio than other cards... how much better is their temp and power efficiency than 370s?
