Concise Token Transfers Between Accounts

I'm having trouble sending tokens (not ether) between two accounts. I've taken the ERC20 protocol straight from Ethereum, compiled and run it, copied the address, and tried to add it to MyEtherWallet, but it's saying I don't have a valid ERC20 token.

Any insights?
