i'm having some problems with my Mining rig. my computer can only find 4 out of the 7 cards i have plugged in.
i've serched google a bit but the most given answer is to enable 4G encoding in the bios, which i have done, unfortunately it did nothing.

i've tested all risers, the power and the GPUS, they are all working...

OS Windows 10.

Bios version;
aptio 2017 american megatrend, core version = 4,6,5,4

Motherboard; this weird one

With all cards plugged in, uninstall driver and reinstall.

@agent412 tried that little over an hour ago, unfortunately only 4 cards showed up again.

So only 4 show up in device manager under display then?

Have you tested the three cards that are not detected on their own by unplugging the 4 cards that are working?

Does Windows boot up with all 7 cards plugged in but only 4 cards show up in Device Manager? Or does the system not post at all?

What is the make, model and size of the PSU? You left out this detail which is one of the most important. A crappy PSU will ruin your day.

    Need more info.

I had this problem with my rig when i first set it up, it turned out that my motherboard said it supported up to six cards, but it really only supported 5. So to fix it, i ordered board that was more known for miners. So idk if ur willing to do that, but maybe that will fix it.

I see the motherboard has a molex and a six pin connector (white ones on the centre of the board), on most BTC boards this is to power the PCIe lanes. Its a little confusing though as in the manufacturer's picture it isnt powered whilst having 8 cards connected. Find out what those are because if there are PCIe power connectors they need to be powered with >4 cards.

If these are not powered the you get exactly the symptoms you are mentioning on most other boards

what CPU Are you using for this build? for me it is a mix of problems here. First power up the motherboard through the molex and the 6 pin(check if only one has to be powered or both have to get power) if you have the i3-2330M CPU, check if in BIOS you have selected PCI GEN 1 for the PCI version to be used(that will reduce the need of PCI lines) the CPU supports up to 16 (which seem to be used by 4 of the cards(4 each) and there are no lines available for the remaining 4 cards.

I forgot to mention, does the motherboard bios have a mining setting, this can also limit the card count if not enabled

When you press the power button do all the cards spin up? Or do only the 4 working ones spin up?

Try installing windows 10 creators update. and using the Windows10 Mining Tweaks DmW(google it, its in github)
i was using windows 10 pro with all the updates and the OS didn't see the 14 and 15 card, then i downloaded the W10CreatorsUpdate and works like a charm!

I think ave first problem is that you have installed MS Windows in legacy mode. In Windows search type 'msinfo32' and check your BIOS ode. If your value is 'legacy' then you will have to re-install windows. The BIOS Mode should be 'UEFI'

i tried everything, i could only get 4 cards to work, i put so much work down on trying to fix that rig that i ended up using it as my main computer for a while.
While i was using the computer i noticed how the screen would tear a bit and things started "freezing" up from time to time, every 5 hours of usage i ended up getting a "black screen" 3 out of 5 times the computer would eventually just restart and boot up again, yesterday when i tried to flash a new bios again i got a bluescreen while i was downloading, the motherboard never started up again after that.

i'm confident to say that the motherboard was fucked from start.... Ram, Hard drive and the GPU's all work great on my second rig, so either the Motherboard broke down or the CPU (which came with the motherboard) died.

Did you change the BIOS setting?
If you have problems booting or supporting more than 4 GPUS/:
    1) Make sure you are running the latest BIOS!
    3) Upgrade bios to newest (important !)
    4) Enable 4G encode
    5) Set PCIe support to Auto or Gen 2
    6) Enable onboard graphics to default (PEG - > IDG)
    7) Change the PCIe speed to 64

    suggestions to try:
update your bios firmware if any available
play with setting the onboard video to enabled/disabled/auto and see if that interfere at all
alternatively connect power to the 6pin and 4 pin sockets on the motherboard power (there by the cmos battery)

i have tested all above, i'm going to get a refund on the motherboard and a new one!
