Minimising Block-chain size while maintaining high availability.

Etherium could allow only some nodes to act as full nodes. These full nodes can then serve as hubs for thousands of smaller clients with only parts of the block-chain. Which parts of the blockchain are where within these minor nodes, is coordinated by the system to ensure maximum availability to all nodes of the block-chain, facilitating the needs of all the minor nodes. Take a look at the CODA File System, and see if this approach could have any merit.

Well, full nodes benefit the network, and allowing/disallowing doesnt sound decentralized. And lightweight(SPV) clients are already the plan.

Taking your comment entirely differently, it looks like an entire new paradigm posing as 'just a little thing we could do with Ethereum'. Read a bit about the Coda thing, dont see what to take from that though..(we cant have trusted servers)
