i have just bought ASUS DUAL-RX480-O4G and would like to mod the bios to increase ethereum hashrate, any advice or ready to flash modded bios for it.
Also i need to know if the gpu good for mining or not cause there is almost no information about this model regarding mining ethereum.

all card is good for mining, deepens how much you want over clock bios on this card, rx 480 can do 30 mh/s but electric take more, but i recommend buy rx 470 cheaper and can make almost the same hash rate

I've just bought 8 of these cards. Got 4 up and running with stock settings last night.

3 of them have Samsung memory and are getting ~24.5mh solo mining in claymore.
1 of them is Hynix and gets 22.5mh

Will be testing power draw and trying a new rom when I get home from work:)

samsung should mod nicely, I'm not having the same luck with my hynix

Yea I'm hoping the other 4 are samsung too.

The best I can get out of the samsungs is 25.8, but it might just be me being useless.

Anybody fancy taking a go at modding the attached bios?:)

the 1500 rom means 1500 memory strap copied to higher straps

I tried copying the 1500 strap up in Polaris Editor but not 100% I've done it right - Will give your ROM a try when I get home.

At the moment I have 102MH with 440watts (full system) running stable for 12hours. 1000/1750 on 4 cards with samsung memory.

I have 3 Dual RX 480 with Samsung memories. Waiting for 2 more.

@Jo3L test the 1500 strap rom, it is with this one.

Well, I have the same so I don't know where's the problem. I'll try to put the stock BIOS but putting the same timings from 1500. Thank for your time! @bouc

@bouc @sloesoft how much degrees are u getting in your cards?

I just set mine to hold at 75c - uses about 30% fan depending on weather. No other cooling in the room.

Using 500w at the wall for 4 GPU systems.

what power usage though? I could get it slightly more profitable but the heat and noise was too much

@sloesoft -90 core voltage, +15 power limit, 1100 core clock and 2000 memory clock. I had the same issue, then I found the option of the core voltage and the heatest get 20ºC down.. now its 66 and before 83-87.

I have these cards and cannot get them to run for more than 6 mins without a crash. I believe its the Radeon Wattman that is crashing, I've tried single card and 4 GPU, always the same. I have tried 5 different drivers, I'm totally stuck. I'm currently thinking I should try ethOS and see if its just a Windows fault? Any suggestions would be appreciated please......

@trevgrant I've tried the BIOS of @bouc, custom BIOS (1700 timings to 1900 & 2000, it looks stable but no), some people had helped me with this but its unbelievable, that GPU are fucking shit.
If you can change to Nitro+, do it. I'm actually doing because that GPU are a mess... always with OpenCL probs with low OC (not the post before than yours, it "looked" stable till 1 of them crash again)...

If I do this, GPU hangs in OpenCL call.

Guys, want to share something with you. Specially, if u still have this GPU (I was thinking about changing it but I think I'll stay because of this).

I was able to stay stable during 2 days (130-135 MH/s and 3200 DCR, 5 GPU) but now, after the new update, I'm getting more. I tried with my moded bios (1700 to 2000 timings) and this configuration work well, even with only ETH I'm getting 30-31 MH/s per card. So, I want to share with you.

Is this using the custom bios? If not what update are you referring to?

this VGA has 23+MHs on ethereum with bios mod
the memory is hynix and ASICS quality is 77.9
whiteout moded bios the hashrate is 21MH/s
is there anybody that has reached to 28+ or more like 32+ on this VGA

I'm only getting 22.5 MH/s when its stable As soon as I push the card it crashes.......

after all F**** play with bios and others i got 27MH/s on ETHer
this VGA is so bad.

I can get this card to run at about 29 MH/s (1215/2150) but it crashes every few minutes. For constant operation I have had to take the card to 1180/1900 and this is giving 25.3 on a 6 card rig.
