Just started noticing many 2GB GPUs for sale. Also noticed a few threads with people having issues.
I had mine mining ZEC but decided to try ETH and all of them don't work except for a Radeon 6990 2GB (Pre-GCN) and a 7850 on one rig running Windows 10 with a bunch of 470s.
This is all based on the Claymore 7 ETH miner.

Btw, if you're thinking of new cards a 4GB should (should) carry you to the end of practical mining on eth with no buffer issues.
GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
ZecMiner64.exe
It works until you re-start your program.
Probably why it works until you restart.
Nice thanks for the tip. I guess its the final 10 days of the Radeon 6990 hashing.
Currently ETH is most profitable with that GPU. After this might be time to retire the 6 year old GPU.
12.5W/MHS but still works. 40nm Technology.
ETC maybe? It's pretty profitable too
ETC definately wont work.
Eth block height: 2705838
ETC block height: 2708069
Looks like epoch 92 will actually occur on ETC first.
hopefully
Is anyone able to calculate that?
Not worth mining to make $0.05-$0.10/day/per GPU.
6990 and 6970 are both still hashing at 13.8MH/s per core
