Mining on ethpool.org cost me 2 ETH in 27 days!

Yep, made a big mistake going to this pool 27 days ago. With 1.3 GH/s I should have had over 3 ETH by now.

But 1.3 GH/s was not enough and the credits required to reach the top and earn a block reward kept going up and up and in the end after a few weeks I realized I had no choice but to rent hashing power from Nicehash to get the block reward. So I spent around 2.23 ETH (Converted to BTC) on Nicehash over various orders and finally got paid today, but only 3.21 ETH. In the last few minutes I had up to 85 GH/s from Nicehash and even then it took a while. What a waste and I wish there were warnings. And I did not get an uncle either. Nope, the uncles went to the miner right behind me, 6 of them which equaled close to 13 ETH!

The reason for this is because their policy is to reward the top miners all the uncles. So they are getting swamped by up to 1 TH/s miners grabbing multiple uncles in a few minutes. They are changing this policy on the 12th and will award uncles randomly. But it is too late for many that got screwed dedicating resources to the pool.

Like this miner who seemed to give up near the end.

Got my electrical bill for the month. $727, and I barely made $800 for the month wasting on ethpool. Thanks - you suck!

Yikes. Hopefully it works out better for you now that you are using a normal pool. My electric bill was very similar but I brought in 3 eth.

My wife has heard me bitching about ethpool the past few days. So have my partners that share a few other rigs with me lol! Oh well fortunately I am done with it now.

The situation on the pool might improve after tomorrow once they get rid of awarding the uncles to the top miner. I suspect those high powered smash and grab miners will stop going there. I've been keeping an eye on one 1.2 GH/s miner that has been stuck 9 days out from the top for a few days and is now 11 days out lol! I can just imagine how frustrated he must be.

While we are growing, we offer the first loyal miners with 1GH/s hashrate a 0% fee. Join us now, and you will have zero fee forever.

Thanks, but how are you going to get any blocks with such a low hashrate? You are competing with large pools. Any miner joining your pool would be worse off than going to Ethpool.

Currently, pool hashrate of 5GH/s is enough to get payouts once per 1-2 weeks. It's almost the same period, as many large pools, as payouts often is limited by some minimum amount.
As we are young, we are going to support pool hashrate with buying hashpower. When we have enough miners onboard, we will decrease bought hashpower part.

1-2 weeks is a tough sell for me honestly. I guess i'm just used to being spoiled and getting payouts every day. I might consider it in the near future, will see how things go for you.
