Is it normal that mining speed drops

Hi,

For each GPU I have I see the following. Every fourth or fifth line the speeds drops to 20.xx MH/s. And than immediately it is back to 25.xx.
Should I be worried about a bottleneck somewhere in my setup, or is this normal?

Typically it shouldn't but there might be several reasons. It can be that you're hitting the limiter power/voltage/temperature. have you overclocked/modded the graphics card? what's the complete config?

After I had checked the memory strapping for each and every video card, it became clear some cards were modded already and some not. Now all are modded, slightly less aggressive mem and core settings and all is running stable now. With even higher hash rates and less power usage.
    Thanks heavyarms1912!

I suspect it maybe the system demanding your gpu for other things. This happens to mine but to a lesser extent, I have 6 cards and the primary card that is hooked up to the gpu drops a mega hash or 10 if there is something graphically intensive on the screen. Try turning off most unecessary processes and see what happens

I am running ethos, logging in remotely (terminal) so no screen attached and nothing which points to other GPU usage. I am suspecting the network connection. Although I have no real indication for that.

I bought the rigs second hand. Not sure if the previous owner has modded the bios's. I am running EthOs without overclocking. Next weeks I will deep dive into flashing bios's using EthOs. I see one card doing very well, I guess this one has been tweaked or flashed.

I have 3 rigs with all kinds of cards. I have them now running stable for over 24h. Lowest is 26,5 and highest is doing 28 Mh/s. Quite happy with it right now. Ethos is doing very well for me.
