I just got MSI RX 470 4GB version and my problem is that I can change the memory setting to 1700 and gpu/mem voltage but when I change gpu core clock, after hitting apply the settings goes back to default value. Using MSI afterburner I can only change memory clock and it allows to set it to 2000 but with this setting and core vddc at 1.03 I get 22.5Mhs at 185Watt at wall. I've tried on 16.7.3 and latest 16.8.1 drivers. Anyone knows why I can't change core clocks?
5 x Rx 470 8GB Nitro (on stock out of the box settings) ethminer: 22.2MH/card - 112 MH/rig but 1040W at the wall, so its almost 200W/card claymore: 24.6MH/card - 123 MH/rig and 1120W at the wall

i think that many of the OC software doesnt yet work whit the new 400 cards, try AMD WattMann its in the Radeon at Gaming > Global Settings. About the consumption i think many reviews that are saying 120-150W/RX470 they where not at the wall but the data from GPU-Z, this cards are drawing 40-50W from the MB.
you cant change the core in wattman while under load, and if you use 16.8.1 you cant change live mem either, after apply a reboot is needed, 16.8.1 offers nothing but bugs but for the 470 its really the only option as 16.7.3 is even worse and you cant use 16.7.2 (you can but you have to install it al manually and I'm not sure if you just intro more issues and that's the last thing the 470 needs)
did anyone try the 16.8.2 hotfix? any difference in performance?
I think at this point the only thing the drive change will give you is less crashing/bsod/no-signal/working wattman
perf increase I think will come from a timing changes in the BIOS that will allow better use of the memory overclocking. some one clever though will have to look at that.

I dont have an 470/8GB to test with but the 4GB uses -20%/800/1750/800 for 22Mh at about 105W at the wall each. and that's dual mining 330Mh of SC also
if it were me dump it down to -20%/800 and then min mem and min power until stable. cant be that hard. just pain full with the crappy bsod/no signal/time issues.

Did anybody try 16.8.2 hotfix driver on RX470? It probably replaced 16.8.1 I would appreciate an answer as I don't know whether to install 16.7.3 or 16.8.2 Cards: Sapphire 4gb OC, Sapphire 4gb Nitro+

please answer few q re RX 470 from Win 10 newb (used Linux for mining before and mac for general computing).
1. Do you use Genoil 1.0.8.zip OR Claymore? 2. Does Claymore even work with 16.8.2 driver (or 16.7.2 or 3)? It says that it needs 15.12, so I am not sure. 3. did you try boosting the card with --cl-local-work 128 or 256 and --cl-global-work 8192 or 16384. Did it help? 4. Which utility for driver removal-AMD clean uninstall utility or DDU?
here is what i have so far working on the 470 BIOS(this one is a bitch still haven't figured out the mem controller voltages). It also uses custom amdgpu driver to get it to work properly with claymours miner.
@jstefanop Outstanding for 470. Did you mod the driver? I assume that it is on Ubuntu 16.04, right? I can't believe that they always make Linux folks wait for OK drivers. Maybe you can ask for a consult with them or something and make it part of amdgpu driver,

16.7.2 is still by far, the stable one for my 480s.

Thanks @boysie I figured you must have saved me like 3 hours. I knew the settings I was trying to run and Wattman was still a pain in the ass with crashes and resets and took me over 2 hours. Ultimately got -20% 800 1750 800 running solid at 21.9MH on 3x MSI 470's at around 310 watts. I installed 16.7.3 then ran the 16.8.2 hot fix.
I'll let that burn in and play with the settings more next weekend.

And I can see in the changelog that there is some improvement in Wattman and RX 460/470 support.
Just to know if there is hope or if you were already using this version

The 4G version does 19.8Mh on ethminer.
whit what the teak? AMD WattMann?

What settings to achieve 22mhs at least possible wattage? Also 4gb must be less than this.
