Contract NodeJS interaction

Hello,

I'm starting with blockchain and ehtereum, so I have a web application in javascript ... and i want to timestamp some operations of my web app in the blockchain.

I have install Mist on my computer, and start the testnet .. i have an account on Mist that have about 150 ether.. and I have create a contract directly in Mist ...

Now I want, in my web app, to trigger the contract in NodeJS same as :

var abi = [......];
var myContract = web3.eth.contract(abi);
myContract.new(...., function(err, result){

// I get an error that display Please check your gas amount ...

});

in myContract variable, i show the functions presents in my contract on Mist.

It's the correct handling ?

What's the simple way to execute timestamp ???

Thank's.
