ETH sent from Wallet Contract gone missing

So I created a Wallet Contract in Mist, and transferred some ether from my base account into it.

Then I did something dumb (because I didn't notice the warning in Mist about exchanges not supporting Wallet Contracts), and sent 1 ETH from my Wallet Contract to Kraken.

But this transaction never showed up on Kraken.

I did another test where I sent a small amount from my base account to the same Kraken address. This transaction did show up. So the address was correct.

A few questions about this:

1) Where is the 1 ETH I sent from my Wallet Contract to Kraken? It's not in my wallet, it's not at Kraken, where is it?

2) Is there any way to recover it?

3) What's the fundamental difference between sending from a Wallet Contract vs a base account that makes this type of transaction not supported by exchanges?
