Can't work out why my account balance isn't going down

I've credited an account with 1 ether and then sent 900 finney twice, but my account balance is still nearly 1 ether.

What am I not understanding here? I would expect the balance to be the total of the credits less the debits. If the transaction failed then I wouldn't expect it to have made it onto the blockchain.

Thanks, that makes sense. etherchain.org and another one I used didn't show the result, which isn't much help.
