Golem, an Ethereum app that lets you offer your computer’s excess CPU power to use for other people while you are browsing on social media, has finally gone live. It has been a long wait, after three years and 14 software implementations.
The project is set to experience a significant amount of fanfare because Golem is deemed to be one of the earliest generations of Ethereum applications. In 2016, the project sold out of its GNT token in 20 minutes raising 820,000 ETH (around $340 million) when it sold its crypto utility tokens to investors. Even with this, there has been criticism over its failure to turn around this product fast enough.
