AMD Blockchain Compute Driver 17.x with a BIOS modified RX470 and Windows 7 64-bit

Has anyone successfully installed the AMD Blockchain Compute Driver released August 23 with a BIOS modified RX470 and Windows 7 64-bit? http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx

I have tried and have not been successful.
The procedure I followed is:

1. Create a System Restore Point
2. Run Display Driver Uninstaller from safe mode. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=874
4. Reboot
5. Install AMD Blockchain Compute Driver released August 23 http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx
7. Do NOT reboot
8. Run atikmdag-patcher-1.4.5 as Administrator to update the driver BIOS signature https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher
10. Reboot

After the final reboot, launching Claymore Dual Miner v10 fails with no error message. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0

So, I am back to running Crimson 16.11.5.

Not much help here, but when I tried to load the blockchain driver (with non -flashed cards), my screen would go blank, and I never could get video to come up. Windows is up and running fine, but no video, no matter which output I pick.

I also gave up and went to whatever the latest AMD driver is(which seems to use more wattage then my older amd version previously (16 vs 17 driver versions?) .

I tried the Windows 7 Radeon driver 17.9.1 too and noticed about a 10% increase in watts and a slightly lower hash rate in Claymore Dual Miner v10 while using the same Afterburner v4.4.0-beta16 settings I used with Radeon driver 16.11.5. Also, the Radeon 17.9.1 driver would crash and reset each time I stopped mining. So, I have returned to using 16.11.5.

    Afterburner v4.4.0-beta16

I took every precaution installing the aug 23 update with no luck. I too am getting crashes with no errors. Seems like something in incompatible with no fix yet.

Does anyone know where I can get a safe copy of the aug 11 driver? AMD isn't hosting it anymore.

i ve been running the non official and the one from 23 aug , without problems , the best is think about desactivate 4g in bios , install 4 gpu , restart , patch , restart , shutdown , activate 4g , then plug other gpu , and was good for me. my rx570 4gb are downvolt in bios , got 1025w at the wall for 8xgpu in dual mining

Jukebox, what Windows version do you have?
    Win 10 x64.
You need to search Aug11 version on filestores. Can't find it now on AMD site.

Windows 10 is fine. I am trying to figure out if the Windows 7 driver works for anyone. I have tried the August 11 and August 23 releases of the Windows 7 blockchain driver and miners crash with both.

Official amd drivers wont work in win7
I am using robinhood version installed via manager.

    Encountered 2 problems so far.
    - Suddenly my 470 hashrate dropped from 27.5 to 26 (I am running 1050/1870)
Cant seem to get it back up and it was fine for the first few hours of mining on new drivers.

    - I had problems with this on old drivers and no idea how I fixed this  but my 580 nitro+ just wont undervolt under 0.98V

Aha! Thank you for the bread crumb, fredeq. The robinh00d package can currently be found at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2068446.0

    Hi,
I installed the beta driver 17.30.1029 on Windows 10 1703. I noticed that from time to time the RIG give error THREAD STUCK IN DEVICE DRIVER and reboot.

As I configured to start mining as soon as windows start, so I would never realized that problem from remote access. I got that standing right in front of the RIG.

I don't know if this was e the cause but I lost one 120gb SSD Toshiba Q300. The setup don't recognize it anymore, tested on other machines, other sata cable.

I installed everything on other SSD, but thinking to go back to other driver.

    Has anyone had this problem?

I can confirm that the latest amd radeon blockchain drivers don't work on windows 7, my claymore miner chrashes when creating DAG file. BUT robinh00d drivers saved me. i had two Asus RX 580 DUAL 4GB with elpida memory with a crappy 17mh/s. When i modded the bios i had 19mh/s ,then wehen i specified the clocks in the .bat file of claymore as follows -cclock 1200 -cvddc 900 -mclock 2100 i had reached 22mh/s. After tens of drivers and reinstalls robinhood drivers helped reaching 28-29 mh/s. Finally. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2068446.0 His tutorial is simple.

Hello everyone, I tried to install the new AMD blockchain drivers, with no luck.

I tried on my normal PC, not on a rig. The card is on the PCI not with a rizer. Any ideas why it didn't worked??

Does anyone use this driver with success?
