For someone with good computer skills but no knowledge of programing what resouces (books, websites, courses ect) would you recomend as a good starting place to learn about programming and crypto currencies?
It's a good list, but personally I think that's completely overkill. If you assume you'll use a binary of any of the ethereum clients, then all you need to know is HTML, some javascript, and a bit of python (assuming you wanted to use serpent as the smart contract language).

Get a laptop, stick the newest Ubuntu on it and come on down. I'm sure you will learn a lot
