Why is this forum not using https/ssl?

You can already use https://forum.ethereum.org/ though it should probably use that as default.

I am using a Chrome browser extension called "HTTPS Everywhere" that enforces https to be used if available.

Thanks for the tip... I didn't even check it. I also think all the site should be served over ssl by default, like bitcointalk. Anyways, it's good to have it as an option..

It's not about not having the cert, it's about using the hosted version of Vanilla which doesn't allow us to auto-redirect.
