Ethereum Reward Not Showing Up

TRCTRC Member Posts: 2
Hi All,
I've been minging Ethereum for a couple of days now, but I'm not seeing any reward show up in my account.
Currently running on a windows 7 System with a GTX780ti for GPU Mining.
Set up node sync with command line argument:

C:\Geth>geth --etherbase 0x94ae89729dc7f820e3dbd175ad61f3972179bb36 --rpc --fast

And it seems to sync up fine:

I start running etherminer:

ethminer -G --opencl-device 0

And that seems to start up fine too!

But when I check my balance with eth.getBalance("0x94ae89729dc7f820e3dbd175ad61f3972179bb36"), I get 0.
I've let it run for about 36 hours now. Am I just being impatient? Or is something wrong?
Thanks!

with a 780ti its gonna take u months to find a block if ur lucky
    switch to a pool
ur still only gonna get like $20 a month at best

Thanks, did exactly that. I understand now the probabilistic nature of finding blocks. That was my misunderstanding before. Joined a pool for now, looking into building a new mining rig as we speak.

@TRC I literally went through the same thing. Tried mining on my gaming PC but didn't realize I should be pool mining until about 2 days in. The only difference is I drunkenly placed the order on the rig I pieced out in a online shopping cart this weekend. I'm both excited (love messing with computer stuff) but worried I won't be able to get ROI. Good thing is I only ordered 2 RX 470 instead of going all in and buying 6. I'm scared I'm getting in a bit late on ETH mining though.
