Hi,

I thought I share this moded bios for this Gigabyte model (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5990#kf)



You can play around with GPU, Core clocks. My cards would crash on anything lower then these setting, but I saw people go down to 880 mv without no problem at GPU.

Just flash with atiflash. Use latest drivers.

Haven't tried dual mining, but I am sure it works just fine.

Hi mate .I really appreciate you're work . But after I mod my bios with ATIwinflash in cmd I got this results in gpuz and claymore does not recognize my gpu too.do you knew what I'm doing wrong ??

try to uninstall drivers with DDU, then reinstall drivers. Once this happend with me also and reinstalling the drivers fixed the issue.

this you can change easily in WattMan or use WattTool. but if you really wat it I can do the mods to the bios also. but I think the MV you have to do manually either way.

im lazy got bored of DDU
now i just go to device manager and play with it from there till it works
most times u just need to disable and re enable
others u need to re install driver from there

in my opinion and experience if you don't use DDU then sooner or later you will get BSOD.

Hm, my Giga 470/4 cannot take 2000MHz - 1950 is max. How you managed?

@Alexx you phisically can't change it? or when you try to put it on 2000 the card freezes? What voltage are you trying to use? Do you make the changes in wattTool or Wattman?

@yoghurtak 610 watt 4 x RX470 plus system. still waiting for 2 more 470 s then I can post the 6 card rig consume.

@Zorg33 depends on the cards. 3-4 of my cards don't give any errors or just a few (40-40/s) but two of them were giving me tons of error. (In thenmillions) so I decided that I better loose some hashrate then to get errors so I went for a very low power rom setting. 26 MHS with 110 watt per card at the wall, GPU-Z is 60 watt. I am happy with them now. 0 errors!

I got 4 cards G1 470 4gb and with Samsung memory and it touches 29 MH/s 1150 / 2100 There is no option to increase more then 2100. So i guess i am very happy with that.

@tanoli82 you should be more then happy with that performance )) but just to be on the safe side check for memory errors with hwinfo!

I have checked it and i have not seen anything there. So hopefully everything is Ok

which timing strap did you use?
i am getting 27,600mh [email protected], [email protected] with the 1500 strap if i overclock it, it crashes

I am getting 28-29 MHz with my RX 470 G1 Gaming 4GB. It is using Hynix memory, running at 1126/2080, drawing around 67.5W according to MSI Afterburner. Tried going beyond 2100 MHz for memory but it caused more errors HWinfo or drew more power.

@emre07691 for samsung use 1625 or 1750 timing. they like it better.

Copied 1750 into 1900 and 2000. Thats all i have done.

I have checked the HWinfo and there is no memory error on 3cards and only 14 errors showing for 1 gpu but never crashed still very stable i checked it 24 hours. in afterburner using -30 MV Core clock 1150 and Memory clock 2100.

I just tweaked my RX 470 Nitro as RX 580

did you do the bios mod? if not then the overclocking has little effect on cards.

yes i did the bios mod. it went from stock 20 to 22-23mh/s. i checked gpuz and i was in 2000mhz mem clock. but wether i slide it to 1400mhz or 2000mhz mem clock, no difference on hashrate. still 22-23mhz

@orinity what timings did you flash on your Hynix rom? Let me know or share a rom download link please. Thanks,

i solved my problem of not having the memory clock affect my hashrate. on wattman i was wondering why i could not slide the memory clock. turns out this issue was because i was using another monitor. i removed my second monitor and restarted then boom! i was able to slide the mem clock on wattman again. I'm now at 28 mh/s thanks guys! thanks drizzt and bigmama

I was having a lot of issues with GPU errors in HWINFO and stability in general. I decided to try updating my modified F3 bios to a modified version of the F7 bios from the Gigabyte website. All three cards have been running at 27.5mh/s for two days straight now with 0 GPU errors in HWINFO. BTW all three of my GB RX470 G1s have the Hynix memory.
